* Fremont, CA: College Bookstore – Converted POS and financial data on an AS400 to data files that were used to load and implement a new Bookstore software package.
* San Jose, CA: Food Distribution Company – Working with TL Ashford Bar Code software, modified system to use various different printers. Also created and modified several file maintenance applications.
* San Francisco, CA: Disability Insurance Company - Developed automated End of Day and End of Month Job stream for their AS400.
* San Jose, CA: Major Floor Covering Manufacturer – updated several AS400 MAPICS shop floor control reports and debugged some existing inventory processes.
* Hollywood, CA: Major Movie Company - Updated AS400 legacy applications to new data base structures for CD and DVD inventory and shipping system.



Concord, CA (3 Years 2002-05) Programmer – Sales Manager: Self-Employed. Ran a sales site on ebay selling misc. items. Also provided support for other online sales sites and ebay merchants. This period also includes some misc. part time, on call AS400 support for various companies.



Private Consultant – Northern, CA (1998 - 2003) Private consulting and contract work: Did Application Analysis, Project Management and Development for two companies.

* San Bruno, CA: School Uniform Manufacturer - One year contract converting homegrown software to ASNA Visual RPG. Was fully trained in AVR. Developed a green screen RPG based materials tracking system for Work in Process inventory at outside contractors. Developed a menu and object authority system written in Visual RPG and connected to the AS/400 DB2 UDB.
* Watsonville, CA: Major wholesale/retail boat supply catalog company - Started on a one-year contract that turned into 2 ½ years. Converted homegrown AS400 software to be Y2K compliant. Modified hundreds of programs, screens and various other objects. Stayed on for another 1+ years providing development and maintenance programming services for company’s' wholesale and retail catalog divisions. Primarily responsible for Credit Card processing but also maintained and modified their order processing systems and inventory systems.



Concord, CA (1997 – 1998) IS Director: Health Insurance Company. This was a hands-on position responsible for all facets of AS400 information systems. Company was using homegrown legacy systems for claims processing and health insurance eligibility. Developed an implementation plan for installing a packaged software system in addition to Y2K upgrade of current systems. Installed several PC networks communicating with the AS/400 using token ring, Ethernet and Windows NT (converted from Novel 3.12). Redesigned and implemented a multiple account check reconciliation system. Implemented a medical services provider system. Designed and implemented a basic web site and installed an e-mail system.



Private Consultant – Northern, CA (1995 - 1997) Private consulting and contract work: Did programming and systems analysis for five different Companies. All five companies had AS400’s.

* Concord, CA Contract Programmer/Project Manager: Major National Bank - Modified and enhanced an AS400 Inventory Asset Management system.
* Pleasanton, CA Senior Programmer: Health Insurance Capitation billing company - Developed various AS400 check processing systems.
* San Jose, CA Contract: IS Director: 1-year contract with a wireless TV cable company. Implemented an industry specific AS400 software package in a multi-site environment. Also developed a channel line up inventory and reporting system for billing.
* San Rafael, CA Contract Programmer: Short contract with a health insurance company converting a text database to AS400 Office 400.
* Pittsburg, CA Contract Programmer: Major aircraft coatings manufacturer - Performed maintenance programming for their AS400 PKMS Inventory bar code labeling system.



Vallejo, CA (7 years 1986-94) IS Director/Manager/Consultant/Software Provider: Provided outside contract services for this auto auction for 1+ years developing a custom distribution and financial system for serialized product on a System 34, which I later converted to a System 36. I then accepted a position as General Manager responsible for Data Systems. Computerized all facets of this distribution and transportation business. After 4 years in this position returned to outside contracting. Beginning in 1992 designed and wrote a complete Auto Auction and Inventory Management System that is Y2K compliant. The new native AS/400 system consisted of every distribution and financial application and was made up of over 400 RPG programs, 800 CL programs, 200 display files, 100 physical files and 200 logical files. This multi-company system was installed on one AS400 system in Vallejo supporting over 11 locations, one AS400 system in Texas supporting over 6 locations and one AS400 system in Atlanta.
