Windows Desktop Support
Position Type: Contract | Job Duration :3 Months + | Job Location : Bay Area, California
One of our Client is looking for a Windows Desktop support person.
Job Description:
* Identifies, tracks, manages, and resolves technology support issues
Field Helpdesk inquiries (phone, email, in person) in a timely and professional manner
* Trouble-shoot basic UNIX, Linux and Citrix issues for hardware, software or network issues; training provided for first level troubleshooting
* Support MS Windows XP/Vista, Windows Server 2000/2003, NT; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), MS NetMeeting, MS Project, MS Visio, MS Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, Anti-Virus, Malware etc.
* Provide PC and Unix workstation setup and relocation; ability to move large / heavy equipment (e.g. 21" monitors; old workstations) Proactively manages client expectations to ensure that the IT organization delivers on its commitments
* Maintain the LANs, DHCP services, & troubleshoot and remedy TCP/IP issues.
* Performs network backup according to a regular schedule Keeps up-to-date documentation of applications, systems, and network equipment
* Enforce IT standards and educates employees about compliance issues
Manages user accounts for employee hires, changes, and terminations
Perform software installation, configuration, troubleshooting and updates
* Ability to provide front-line telephone support to all other World-wide locations.
* Work with the other Information Technology teams to determine who can be used as a resource or assist with an in-depth issue
* Trouble shoot VPN issues
* Image laptops, backup and restore images from the server or external hard disk
* Responsible for troubleshooting and support of laptops, desktops, printers, projectors, copiers and conference room setups
* Monitor Symantec Anti-virus console
* Provided Server room support for helping co-workers to install and mount servers/switches onto racks
* Address and create solutions and documentations for laptop/desktop issues.
* Windows Server 2003 Networking, Troubleshooting and Maintenance
* Build Linux workstation from Kickstart Server (server has been setup).
