Sr. Business Analyst

Position Type: Contract to Hire | Job Duration :3 Months | Job Location :San Francisco, CA

Job Description
Following established written procedures, guidelines and techniques, applies technical knowledge in determining end-to-end design requirements for small to mid-sized projects involving line of business, software/hardware developers and vendors. Work closely with business partners to determine requirements and develop functional designs based on the analysis of line of business needs, objectives and existing systems infrastructure.
Formulates, defines, and implements improvements to business processes and operations to solve problems and enhance productivity and effectiveness. Analyzes data, conducts research, interviews employees, and monitors process efficiency and outcomes to identify problems. Consults with users to define problems and identify solutions. Conducts work flow, feasibility, cost/benefit, trend, and cause and effect analysis. Develops recommendations, designs solutions for process improvements. Tests solutions and communicates impact to users. May define and run queries and develop analysis and reports to track and assess performance in addition to maintaining procedures and documentation.
Provides analysis and recommendations and may provide consultation and/or expert advice. Lead small to medium sized projects that are moderately complex and have significant impact on business unit operations. Gathers, documents, analyzes and draws conclusions on moderately complex data and information. Defines problems and scope, develops recommendations, manages implementation of solutions and contributes and participates in meetings.
Individual should be knowledgeable of policies, procedures and standards; and should be capable of performing complex analyses with little or no direction. Provides guidance to associates within own unit regarding procedural, technical and/or operational changes.
Individual contributor role; Excellent interpersonal skills is a must and fully competent to work under general direction on enterprise-wide projects requiring creative solutions, seeks guidance and direction from more senior associates or manager, as needed. Operational Experience a must. Typically requires 6 - 9 years of applicable experience.

Required Skills
* MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio
* Strong knowledge of project management, operating policies, procedures, and practices
* Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to solicit input.
* Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheet and database software
* Knowledge of Financial Services industry and/or business unit procedures and operations
* Good process improvement skills.
* Time management skills and ability to multitask from project to project as priorities change

Desired Skills
* Exposure to lean methodologies or six sigma tools
* Change management experience (formal or informal).
* Experience in the banking industry
