We are seeking a Web system administrator and developer to help build and manage the Assembla.com site, and sites for clients that are launching new Web and cloud-based products. We are looking for a serious engineer to join a team that does both product development, and production server administration.

The ideal candidate can install, update, and run a system with MySQL, Apache and Nginx, Ruby on Rails, Capistrano, mail servers, cron daemons, etc. The ideal candidate can also program in Ruby and and other scripting languages.
* Experience configuring and administering linux systems
* Programming and scripting skills
* Understanding of security issues
* Understanding of Web services and cloud / virtual servers
This is a telecommuting job, part time or full time.

In addition to our regular engineering duties, we need someone who can be "on call" until 12:00 midnight in California. Then our administrators in Europe can go on call. So, we are looking for someone in the Pacific or Mountain time zone.
