I bought an extra copy of Windows 7 HP upgrade from Amazon.com for my brother but it turns out he got a copy through his school at a discount. The software is totally new, sealed in box. Upgrade boxes include both 32-bit and 64-bit installation discs. Remember, if your computer is fairly new (i.e. dual/quad core computers), it is almost certainly 64-bit capable, even if you are currently running a 32-bit operating system. If you are currently running a 32-bit OS, you need to do a clean install to change to 64-bit. This is exactly what I did with my XP computer.
